What we hear from shop owners
- Breakers trip when the compressor and the heater run at the same time
- A new lift or tire machine needs its own circuit
- Not enough outlets on the benches, so extension cords run across the floor
- Dim bays that make close work harder than it should be
- The panel is full and there is no room to add anything
What we do for mechanic and auto shops
- Dedicated circuits for hoists and lifts, tire changers and balancers
- Air compressor wiring, disconnects and motor starters
- Welder and plasma cutter outlets, 240V and three-phase
- Bench and bay outlets, drop cords and reels
- Shop heaters, exhaust fans and overhead door openers
- LED high bay and bay lighting
- Panel and service upgrades when the shop grows
- EV chargers for customer and shop vehicles
- Security cameras and network cabling for the office and front counter
LED high bays qualify for efficiencyPEI business rebates of $130 to $400 each depending on output, plus rebates on occupancy sensors. See all rebates

Questions we get asked
Can you wire a new lift or tire machine?
Yes. We check the equipment's requirements and your panel, then run a dedicated circuit with the right breaker and disconnect so it is ready the day it arrives.
Our breakers trip when everything is running. Can you fix that?
Usually. We look at what is on each circuit and how much the panel and service can handle, then move or add circuits, or upgrade the panel if the shop has outgrown it.
Can you work around our bookings?
Yes. We can work early, late or one bay at a time so you can keep taking customers while the work gets done.
Do you install three-phase equipment?
Yes, where three-phase power is available. If it is not, we can talk through your options, including single-phase equipment and what Maritime Electric would need for a new service.
